Oakroyd Hotel Hotels, B&Bs and Pubs around County Durham

Absolutley brilliant stay! The staff here were very friendly and accommodating. The vending machine was out of action, the lady on reception asked us what we were after, it was just a couple of bottles of water. She very kindly gave us 2 from their store and didn't take any money. We come from London and this is not what would have happened there!! The location was excellent. Our daughter works on a boat in Hartlepool and had just returned from the Tall Ship Races, so we were just across from the marina. Lots of places to visit.

Typical Premier Inn but located on the marina so a great place to explore and getting the right room provides great views over the marina. They are connected to a local chain pub so the breakfast was a wide choice and very good. Ample parking and we checked in online so wasnt at reception more than 10 seconds. Overall, well worth the money (family room £65). July 2018

A very nice place for a bar meal. Between 12 and 2. And 5 and 7 they have some amazing offers 3 courses for 7pound I think it was. I would recommend giving this place a try

We went to watch The Valentine's they are fantastic would recommend them to anyone don't know about the bedrooms but the rooms down stairs very nice

Some good points and some areas for improvement. The good first. Excellent location near the station. 10 minute walk to the Marina with its great choice of restaurants. Good price point and spacious rooms. Housekeeping keep the room serviced daily without fuss and no matter what time I was in and out of the room during my 3 nights stay. Hotel is well appointed and feels modern and clean throughout. Quiet location so no noise from outside at night or in the morning. The areas for improvement. Wouldn't let me check in 40 minutes early after a long journey. Didn't even check if the room was ready and available. Just a "come back at 3 pm". We all know that some rooms would have been ready for occupancy at that time and it is nice to just check. Shelf above hangers in room was VERY dusty. Weird as the rest of the room was immaculate. Housekeeping woke me up 2 days with loud chatting and banging around. My room had a DND sign so they knew it was occupied. Some consideration please. The hotel has signs asking guests to keep the noise down. Staff too please. Waited 10 minutes in reception to check out. nobody around to had to lean over and drop off the keycards. Maybe put a drop box for the cards for when nobody is around? I have been a customer service manager for many years so have high expectation. All in all this was a good place to stay and I would stay again.

A good selection of beers & other beverages at unbeatable prices. The menu has a selection of snacks & cooked meals to suit all tastes & budgets. Worth a visit when in town.

Nice friendly owners.Clean comfortable lodges in nice surrounding.Also lake on site if you fancy a bit of fishing.Very peaceful.

visited it today had a walk around the lake to see what pegs/surrounding area was like very accessible

Great guest house only £48 a night for ensuite double room with a fantastic breakfast (so much to choose from ) Was there for work reasons and only stayed one night, if it was down south where I'm from you would be paying upwards of £80 a night. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Great rooms and service with a smile. Just what you need to feel comfortable and welcomed every day. 1st class service and recommended!

Came here for 1 night, stayed for a week. Very clean and friendly. Would highly recomend for a long or short break. Close to seatons best chip shop and a friendly boozer on your doorstep. What more could you want. Also close to beach and all amusements so ideal for families.

Nice place could do with some final touches wish it was in a better area

A really nice venue fore small gatherings, with good quality food and service. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is parking is on the road.
